The Orthodox Church

It is Orthodox, but not Jewish. It is catholic, but not Roman.

It is evangelical, but not Protestant.

It isn't non-denominational… it is pre-denominational.

It has believed, taught, preserved, defended and died for the  Faith of the Apostles since the Day of Pentecost 2000 years ago.

It is the living Body of Christ on earth.

Absolutely everything about the Orthodox Church leads the cosmos towards our Lord and God, Jesus Christ

The Orthodox  Christian faith is much more than a ‘religion’.

For those prepared to walk 'the way', it is a path to total transformation.

Christ's first command is "repent". The church guides us beyond remorse and guilt - towards an ontological redirection of our entire being towards God. It renews our life...In Christ.

Orthodoxy is the home of Hesychasm (stillness) and Nepsis (watchfulness or mindfulness).

Our understanding of salvation (the goal of our lives) is theosis: -

"Christ became man, in order for man to become god"  (to become holy by His grace) (Saint Athanasius)

Our understanding of sin is 'missing the mark' (i.e. not being holy)

Orthodoxy is Christianity of the whole person.

It is not just an intellectual exercise - to drink the life-giving waters, it needs to be lived.

We Christianize everything at all times, using not just our mind but also every sense of our body our soul and spirit.

We see the entire creation as sacrament.

It is both the hardest and the simplest journey.

It is paradoxical and full of awe-inspiring mystery.

Our church is the hospital for the soul.

This timeless, ancient faith is alive. It is Truth.
